Compaq Mod

Ok I have an Idea for what seems to me to be a simple yet effective case mod. lets give a wee bit of background first.

Ok I have a Compaq presario S4010 CL
2.4 Gb Intel Celeron
512 Mb of RAM
128 Mb ATI Radeon 9200SE
Sound Blaster Live 24bit hooked to a Logitech Z-640 surround sound.

That's the hardware I know it's not the greatest rig but for $600 I'm not complaining. Now I've never done a case mod before but you folks have got me thinking. I was absentmindedly staring at my case the other day and decided wouldn't it be cool if I could cut the raised compaq letting out of the side and backlight it.

That's the case (I know not the best shot of the lettering.)
I'm just wondering if you guys think this would be a good first time project or if I should try something simpler? oh and I have a dremel and a crap load of tools so no worries there.

I think it would look awesome if you cut that out and put some frosted acrylic behind it, then lit it with cold cathodes or leds, depending on your taste.

Yay revival of dead topics is fun.

Ok I've been looking over the raised lettering on this case and I've decided it is way too much hassle to try and epoxy the center of the O and the P and the A and the Q back in place on the plexi so I've decided to cut the imperial symbol from star wars into it instead. Plus a co-worker has agreed to draw Darth Vader on the other side of my Case for me. so I've been playing with photoshop and I did the mod with out cutting any metal and I also get to try different Cathode Colors as well. anyway let me know which color you think looks best (remembering of course that these aren't the greatest pics and the colors will be slightly different when I acctually get a light in there.)
(Tripod is bitchy and won't let my do these as image links I had to bang up a quick website and replace the links, but incidentaly they work if you already have them open.)

I have decided that since I know have a bigger case and am going to do this mod from paycheck to paycheck I'm gonna put all three in.
