Low on virtual memory

System Specs:
AMD 2500+ O/C - 3200+ Stock cooling
512 meg ram pc3200
Abit nf7s mobo
ATI 9600 XT 256 mb
Win xp home

Anyway as of late my computer has been messing up. I have been getting errors saying i'm low on virtual memory when i'm hardly doing anything. I play Warcraft 3 for 10 minutes or so and things get glitchy. Any ideas what might be going on?

No however it has increased itself several times now and it is now at 758 megs.

Hmm... I used to get this problem, but I only have 256 megs of 3200, you shouldn't be having a problem.

yeah, I had it to, however I forgot what I did to solve it. That was a long time ago.

As for the game I thought it might be an overheating issue so i turned on the temp guages and i'm running steady at 40. And my system pretty well crushes warcraft 3

Possibly errors on actual memory.

I just did mem test no errors in memory.

checked for spyware/adware? sometimes that stuff could be running in the background and eat memory.

Well I just formatted (again) and this time I put Norton on instead of Panda and things started working like they used to so I got looking and I found there are some viruses that more or less hijack panda directly and fool you into thinking things are allright when they suck lol

ZoneAlarm sucks, its worse than Window's firewall, and is heavy on mem usage.

definitely agreed. i stopped usin it when they decided to make it all pretty and doubled it's resource usage

a nice firewall that no one hears about, least i dont is outpost, has a lot of good features, can see what ports are open n such wit just a couple clicks & uses around 10-15M of ram. its the only software firewall i trust besides smoothwall.
