To the growing frustration and annoyance of Microsoft's management, Apple Computer's iPod is wildly popular among Microsoft's workers.

Thats just funny......

This is just sad:

So popular is the iPod, executives are increasingly sending out memos frowning on its use. ... So concerned is management, owning an iPod at Microsoft is beginning to become impolitic, the manager said. Employees are hiding their iPods by swapping the telltale white headphones for a less conspicuous pair.

It's not the fact that they're listening to headphones on the job that's getting them in trouble. :|

And if I had the money, I'd so own one, too.

"Some people are a bit concerned about being traitors, not supporting the company," he said. "They're a bit stealth about it."

I drive a Mitsubishi... we don't sell Mitsubishi...

What.. did they yoink all the soundcards from Microsoft's workstations and firewall off Itunes? Why do they need an Ipod, seems that most of the employees at microsoft would spend a good majority of their day parked infront of a PC considering their major focus is "software" (note the quotes :rimshot: ) development... CDR/DVDR full of mp3's and headphones to the soundcard....

I've considered a portable mp3 player a few times, but I would never use it.

I probably wouldn't use one enough to justify buyng one but, would be good to have at times.

Sadly, I would use it. Quite a *lot.* I have two six-hour classes where I'm allowed to do whatever I want as long as I have something to show at the end of that time, so I spend a huge portion of them listening to music and my favorite radio programs. I'm actually looking to get an MP3 player in the next few days.

Ipods are overpriced for what your getting, and it's easy to find a better deal elsewhere, but they are marketed amazingly well and keep selling because of how popular they are.

I'll pass, thanks.

I have a 128mb mpio. Its pretty good. I use it quite abit. It gets about 2h of music on it, depending on the quality. Thats all I need,......Though if I find a great deal on an IPOD Im gonna jump on it! No doubt about it
