I have an Athlon Xp 2500+ Barton O/Ced to 3200+ . The temps aren't really that bad for stock cooling, usually sits at 40º ish under no load. Either way I don't imagine it would be a bad investment. I think its socket A, but either way is it worth upgrading the cooler or should I wait until I get one of the 64's (whenever that will happen) or something else when I will actually need something that is not stock. And is there any good socket A coolers around?

Thermalright makes a few good socket A coolers and there are even a lot of alternatives to those.. we just recommend them..

Really up to you.. if you're not breaking 60° C under load you're not really in any need of a new heatsink.. unless you're like me and don't like over 50° C 8)

Look for one of the older Thermalright SLK800 or 900, they cool great and with all the new ones out, these should be pretty cheap these days.

The latest Thermalright Socket A cooler, the SI-97, is pretty expensive...but since my AS5 cured, and I put my rig back into a side fan case, I haven't seen over 43C under load. The other day I looked after playing PoE for well over an hour, and the temp was 39.

ThermalTake Silent Boost isn't a bad cooler, I ran one for nearly a year, max load temp was 50, except for a couple of times it hit 51.
