I hate MSN Messenger and it's "I am going to be here whether you like it or not when you install a new WinXP OS" attitude.
The very first thing I do upon reformatting any Windows based is remove MSN messenger.
There is a simple copy and paste code to remove it.
Start Button
Run
Paste this code in and hit ok.
rundll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %systemRoot%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove
It works and is a final soluition to the MSN messenger problem.
Copy it and paste it into the run box and hit ok, after it is done uninstalling MSN Messenger it will ask to reboot. You can reboot then or just wait till you restart the next time. When you do MSN will never bother you again.
You have to do this everytime you reformat.
