Calling all Celeron D 355 Overclocking gurus. I am new to the forum and want to attempt my first overclock. My supplies are as follows:
1) 2.8 GHz OEM Celeron D 335. Socket 478 w/ 256 L2 Cache 533 MHz FSB
2) SOYO SY-P4VTE Motherboard :

hmmm, im no expert but:
you might wonna get some sinks for you ram
your heatsink doesnt look the best (looks like stock does the ssame job)
have you used artic silver 5 past?
if your gonna get a new hsf. consider these:

WOW thank you VERY much for you prompt response. I thought i would be left to fend for myself :roll: I have taken your hs/fn combo into consideration but for now its kinda out of my budget to spend almost $70 on a heatsink. Do you think i should hold of on the Overclocking until i can get that? My mine really that crappy?

Before purchasing a new HSF check this index to see how it ranks compared to other heatsinks.

Overclocking will generate more heat, so the stock cooler will not be enough. How good of cooling you need depends on how high you want to overclock.

Umm, it got the "wtf were they thinking" award at Overclockersclub.com
Some say it cools good, some say okay. Everyone said it was difficult to install and not a good choice if you move your PC around a lot. These are all from the first google page of reviews.

You know, I can't say as I've ever seen a bad review of a Thermalright heatsink... :wink:

i know someone who has that hsf, he usually has it down at my local cafe (internet cafe) and yeah, must me pretty mobile... it looks good too. theres only one thing i dont like about that type of hsf, it doesnt work as well as it could unless you fave a fan at the top of your case. but saying that the psu may do that job depending on the ventalation it has
