I was over at my uncles checking out his new computer and. Hes like "look it has a remote". I initially didn't care, "good for you I have about 6 for my home theatre." But then he could bring up his TV guide and stuff and select a show to record and even record the whole season ect. I'm just curious assides from A capture card, need anything else to hook this sort of thing up? Mind you he is running media center 2005 but whatever.

Think you just need a capture card & Windows media center... and the remote/IR sensor, haven't looked into it..
Windows media center basically takes a bunch of semi-complex programs and integrates them into one idiot-proof, point-n-click interface for your enjoyment.

It's not accomplishing anything new, I'm sick of people thinking this is some new thing...

Understood, I know its not new, just never took the tiem to pay any attention to it, so when I saw the guide on the monitor I thought it was neat. Do any capture cards come with programming to do it? Windows media center can pound sand.

Windows media center can pound sand.
LOL...
Most should come with the software for that yep, just may not be a fully-integrated thing, might have to switch software for recording/playback/etc...
