i have got a very noisy 400w psu and untill i can afford a better one i am going to replace the fan inside it with a quieter one but i was wondering how much air flow the psu will need? the one i have been thinking about getting is a 80mm silent ys-tech that produces 30cfm at 23.5db. is this powerfull enough?

Hm... hard to say.. have you looked at the current fan ? Google the model number and see if you can find the specs on it, something with equal or better CFM would be just fine.

Most fans in cheapy power supplies anyway are garbage anyway.

the standard psu fan produced 35 cfm the one i have put in is just over 30 cfm to make up for this i made the holes in the opposite end of the psu bigger to let more air in. I have been running my pc all day now and it is a hell of a lot quieter!!! i just hope that when i upgrade the psu the new one will be just as quiet.
