I think I'm posting in the right spot, if not, mods relocate this thread for me? thanks.

I have an A8N SLI DELUXE board and my cpu fan is running at too low of an rpm status, so says the electronic woman's voice on bootup. If I need to leave more information in order to recieve help just let me know and I'll put it up. Thanks in advance.

The chipset fan of the a8n-sli del is crap. If you still have guarantee, call asus and they'll send you a new fan, since you're not the first one!

I replaced mine with this (http://www.thermaltake.com/coolers/chipset/a1178.htm) one, works splended and more quiet.

So you are suggesting I replace my chipset fan?

When I play a game of UT2004 and take a pause to check cpu fan speed its a mere 700ish and cpu temp 44ish degree C. It seems to be a little slow on rpm's and warm in temperature.

I am using a coolermaster cpu cooler too.

Is it making any noise? Might be a bearing going out causing it to spin slow. If it's a standard size, like 80mm, you can replace it with most any case fan you choose.

i don't think its the bearing (new heatsink/fan). When i plug the heatsink fan into like chasis 2 slot the rpm's are noticeable faster and when i plug the chasis fan into cpu slot the chasis fan is running noticeable slower. Is there a setting or voltage off of this connector from the motherboard out of wack, is it adjustable?

Ahh, look in the BIOS for a setting that would control the CPU fan then.

Fan Speed Control, Smart Fan, AMD Cool'n'Quiet

Disable anything like that in BIOS and that should hopefully return the CPU header to full voltage again.

Excuse me, hadn't seen it daid cpu fan, I automatically assumed chipset fan.
Disable all functions in teh BIOS like Funkz said and are you sure, you heatdink fan doesn't have its own fan controller to regulate the speed?

Thanks for the help guys, disabled the cool n' quiet feature and fan is running at higher rpm's.

No control to regulate fan spd;/

Thanks again for the help.
