Hi there,
Last night I replaced the Northbrige fan on my daughters computer (darn Gigabyte Mobo's) and now when i hit the power button the fans move like it starting up but after about 1/2 a second nothing happens. No fans no HD activity no boot. I didn't touch anything but the NB fan and i was grounded when i replaced it. After it didn't work i tried resetting the CMOS and i took everything out and reseated it but still nothing. Is my Mobo dead? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Swap out the power supply or test it on another computer.

Did you compare the amperage of the new fan to the old one?

And, is the new fan plugged into the same spot, or is that not hooked up to anything? (some boards freak out about that)

Yes the fan i replaced is the same amprage as the stock fan. Plus i took it out and put the old fan back in and it still woulnd't work. The power supply is fairly new (bought it about 3 months ago) but i'll try swaping it out when i get home.

Silenze no i had to connect it to the 12v molex connector dumb thing came with a 3 pin connnector (with a 4 pin molex adapter) instead of the little 2 pin connector my board has. but when it didn't work i plugged the bad fan back into the board leaving the new fan in place and hooked up. still no go
