Hi everybody,
I have, what probably amounts to a stupid question. I have a side 80mm fan blowing into my case, right onto my 92mm CPU heatsink fan (they are about 2 cms apart). The idea was to take cool air and blow it directly on my CPU heatsink with the 2 fans blowing in the same direction. However, the outter fan (monted on the case) is weaker and moves less air then the heatsink fan. Is this a problem? is the stronger heatsink fan going to be working harder to pull air from a less powerful outter fan?

You could try taking the 80mm fan out and put a duct in there for the 92mm CPU fan to draw air directly?

I added a duct, and it lowered my idle by 4C and my load by 4C. I'm am still worried that my cooling is not enough. I have 3.2E Prescott, and my case has 2 80mm's, 1 HDD fan, and a 92mm pushing in the front, with a 80mm, power source and slot fan pushing out the back. Even with all of this my idle CPU is 52 C (134 F) with loads approaching 64 C with my case temp loading at 26C and my PWM loading at 70C. Does anybody have experience with an air cooled Prescott that has experienced better numbers? if so how? Does this high idle temp stand a chance of hurting my CPU over the long run, or is this just accepted as "normal" for a Prescott? Thanks.
i have put a duct aswell, for the CPU to take air out directley.I am not so sure and I don't know what to do , to keep the duct or to remove it.I haven't monitored the PC's temp to see which is better cuz I didn't find any good monitoring prog. Can anyone help with the duct ideea or with the monitoring prog?pls

you need motherboard monitor 5 to keep an eye on your cpu temps!!
thnak you leeglf , that prog is quite good and I'm using it right now
my other problem remains the duct.
I will explain why i placed the duct (probaly it's going to be a very long explination , but maybe so my problem will be solved :D )
My power supply has a 120mm fan directed to the CPU.My guess is that the fan (from the supply) takes the air from the CPU.The duct was probably thought for making the CPU to take air from outside from a separate source.....
But (:D) : the duct is a little bit lower than the CPU cooler and when using smoke from a cigar , the flow looks very weak on the duct.
Please help and give some ideas........
