Hey - This is my first time posting here and it is due to the fact that I need some major help with my new pc I just custom built. I put every cent I could save up into this system and I know my performance issues should be able to be fixed...i just can't seem to figure it out. Heres my specs: AMD Athlon 64 FX-55, asus a8u-sli premium motherboard 2.86 ghz, 1 gb memory (2 slots ddr400), Nvidia geforce 7800gtx, nvidia stripe 138 g, [/b]and thats prob the important stuff. I run spyware programs daily and the computer is like a week old so i doubt it's registry problems. Used norton for virus scanner. Have been using coolbits instead of msi's dynamic overclocking, but didn't push it to far....but as of right now should i even have to? All my drivers are up to date (motherboard nforce IDE 5.21, video card 81.85) and I haven't erased any yet. I ran a 3DMarks test score of 6113 which is pretty poor @ 1280 x 1024. Half-life 2 ran like butter at maxed out settings, but FEAR is more jerky then a car accident even after I downloaded every update I could find (when using performance test, I got something like 80% below 20 fps). Doom 3 played crappy as well. Shouldn't this system preform better? I mean Quake4, STALKER, FEAR......I really need this thing running to its potential. I could use all the help I can get. It would be more appreciated then you could even imagin. Here's some specs from nTune: HHT Link 1099.997, Mem Bus 439.999, PCI express bus 2500.000, PCI bus 33.00, CPU multi 13.0x, CPU speed 2859.993.
