They're actually less efficient for such things due to both cores utilizing/sharing all the remaining internal components of the CPU..

wow I thought I was doing well when I cracked 39s. I had to go back and do some more tweaking to even consider posting my score here. However, my x2 3800 is not doing 3+GHz like silenze's.
My spec's are in my sig, except I don't have the video card or the HSF's yet.
Ill figure out how to post an image soon, but for now my time is 36seconds.

I'm just using the "modded" version of super pi.
You should download "Super PI mod 1.5 XS" or a newer version (if already out), just verify that it's a "modded" version.

So far they aren't to bad, I just now today started messing with the ram timings a bit. They booted straight into Windows on first try at 5-5-5-15 @ 1.8v and run perfactly at speced 4-4-4-12 @ 2.1v at everything up to a 400 FSB, which is as high as I can currently go without being able to lower the CPU multi. Today I dropped the timimgs to 3-4-3-9 @ 2.4v 1:1 with the CPU running at 400 x 9 and they seem to be very solid.

i spent a little bit playing around with the test system in hopes of beating Silenze.. hehe
http://shawn.ocia.net/photos/superpirig.jpg
i strapped on a 92mm vantec tornado (aka blow dryer fan!) to the Ultra ChillTec Cooler, added a 120mm fan to help cool the chipset and repositioned the side-mounted 120mm fan to blow air over the mobo instead of the lower hdd rack.

Well this is alot harder than I thought. I am still learning to tweak my memory and I need to push my CPU father. As of this point I am pushing 16 in SuperPI.
EDIT: Update so far the lowest I have done is 14 sec. 3.4MHz DDR2-1200 5-5-5-12 @ 2.3v. I am sure if I could get to 3.6+ I would hit the 12s. Problem is it gets way to hot.

No, it ain't fake, to be honest I never really cared much about benchmark scores. But the E-8400 is a real smoker on SuperPi.
Funny thing about it, I got this best overclock yet on an Asus econo-board. (P5Q-E)
