Well I went through and redid everything on the forums so that all the categories and everything should be about the same as they were before. Thanks to techniq for restoring the old forum template :-). My fingers are hurting now from all the clicking and typing. I did some other things too on the administrative side to set permissions and what not, so if you see that something isn't working quite right, or not working like you remember it working before, let me know.
Also, i need some suggestions for "rankings" (you know the text that appears right under your name when you post). I set up a few real quick, but my mind is fried, and i couldnt' think of anything. They need to be slightly humurous, but still somewhat functional (as in have some kind of order to them that makes one appear better than the previous). If you have any ideas, let me know. It's possible that they could have a theme to them, but i'd like to steer clear of movie parodies ;-)
anyway, just give me your thoughts, and start posting. ask all kinds of questions, talk about anything and everything
GO, GO, GO!!!!!

Good job buddy, I was beginning to suffer from withdrawl. I found myself bring up a web browser, typing in www.ocia.net, and periodically hitting the refresh button. Ok, so I didnt do that but I am glad the site is back up and looking pretty close to what I remember.

The "I have a cd-burner" actually dates back to my first year at college back in the old days of 2000 ;-). We were sitting around talking about computers in the Student Center, and this girl (who I'll leave nameless, but Techniq and Siq know her) comes up to me and a buddy of mine and starts listening to the conversation. Out of the blue, she says "Hey, I have a cd-burner". Given that she knew absolutely nothing about computers, and the expectant look on her face like we were going to let her into the cool "geek" club because she had a cd-burner, i found it to be one of the funniest things i had ever heard.

It is your perception, nothing more. ;)

Thanks for the heads up. We currently working on setting it up so the URL is always just forums.ocia.net/, but right now there is a redirect to have that URL. I will fix this today and set it up so the redirect is no longer there.

striker777, some of the images were messed up because they were looking with a webroot where forums was a subdirectory, instead of the webroot being the forums directory. I changed them to use the global variable phpbb uses so it updates based on the configuration of the page

Ahh, gotcha. I see that in the configuration now. Thanks for the info.
