Allright guys, as the title says, the guys that use tv-capturing cards, what software do you use to capture TV?
I have a pinnacle pctv pro, but the software that came with it, never worked for me (A/V out of sync, even when only watching!).
Tried Dscaler, crashed my system 20 times and doesn't have a scheduler function.
Couldn't get FlyDS to work (EAccesviolation :? ).
Using Power DVD from cyberlink now, but it can only capture to mpeg and A/V capturing out of sync when upping my fsb :( .
Still, I would really like to capture to avi (easier editing) and get my A/V sync right even when it's overclocked.
Any good suggestions?

it's been a long time since i've messed with any of this stuff. i know a few people here mess around with it. although, i would recommend looking around on www.dvdrhelp.com for you answer to this one. i'd like to help ya out more, but they are definitely the experts on video editting/ripping questions.

I have a Hauppauge WinTV card. I mainly watch tv with tvtime or kwintv, but I have recorded with MythTV. These are all linux apps, but figured they were worth mentioning, for anyone out there who runs a good OS ;). MythTV is very nice as it has a very nice web interface so you can schedule your recordings, see what you recorded (with a snapshot, but no streaming), etc. It does live tv pausing (like a tivo) as well as allowes you to rewind up to a few minutes or more, based on your buffer. MythTV is great for a home theater PC as it also has interfaces for ripping dvds, playing mp3s, playing MAME and other emulators, plays divx.
Take a look at the screenshots (http://www.mythtv.org/modules.php?name=MythFeatures) if you want.
