im thinking about making my laptop a little bit nicer (or geeky if you wish), and i was looking up mod ideas but couldnt find any other than adding LEDs under the keyboard, i was wondering if you guys had any ideas.
in case youre wondering its a VAIO FE550G

you could put LEDs under the VAIO logo on the back of the LCD. Maybe cut out the letters and replace it with thin plexi glass and make it real spiffy 8)

Classic but nice.
Maybe glue 4 little stand-off under the laptop and place 2 neons under it? (figure a car)

Sure, except that his laptop wouldn't burn you when you put it on your lap. :P

I read an article at PCWorld.com that MacBooks had been measured as running at up to 90 degrees Celsius. They ran hot enough to burn someone and to even discolor the plstic of their own case below the processor.
Lemme see if I can find more info to show you.

Sorry, it was actually 60 degrees, but that is still 142 degrees Fahrenheit, easily enough to give one a 3rd degree burn. Evidence:

you know, today i got to play with a co-worker's macbook pro, and it did seem kinda hot when i picked it up, but then again it was 120F outside, so i dont know...

we have a laptop cart at work filled with 30 mac book pros....they all over heat! We just waiting for the mass recall :evil:

So far, Apple has released a new firmware for all Macbooks that they didn't specify the reason for, so the general suspicion is that it will help to address the heat issue. The main point is just that the thing just needs better cooling. There's no two ways about it.
