the clock on my computer, ya know, in the bottom right of the screen, tends to run about 5 minutes fast in a 2 week period. ill set it back to the correct time and slowly it will inch its way back up to about 5 min ahead before i set it back again.

is this due to overclocking?

mine is exactly on time.

in xp, you can double click the clock, go to the internet time tab, and set it to update automatically with the naval observatory. then if you still keep getting the incorrect time, it's probably that teh clock you are using is actually 5 minutes slow (at which point you can set the time on your watch appropriately)

The clock on my other computer kept horrible time with ME, no problem after upgrading to XP. The calandar would change, also. I thought at one time the bios battery might be weak, but the time was the only problem.

This computer keeps perfect time, running XP and overclocked.

Shawn, check this:

Doubleclick on time
Click Internet Time tab
Check to see if the "Automatically synchronize...." box is checked

I have no idea if you can change it to synchronize more than once a week.

I guess this is why my computers keep good time, both have that box checked.

I just happened to find a windows tweak list this morning that had this on it...never knew it was there before.

Okay guys, all of a sudden (three days ago, haven't changed a thing) my windows clock is running 5 min fast every hour!!!
That's just nuts and really annoying because I capture a lot of tv shows on a schedule.
I swear to God, it just started doing that all of a sudden. My system has always been overclocked, never had this problem.
It's only the windows clock, because on every reboot the clock adjusts itself to the bios and I'm on time again.

As a quick solution, I have set internet synchronization to once every hour, to reduce the problem, but it annoys the absolute s**** out of me.

I've read this (http://www.nforcershq.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19631) post entirely; many people seem to have the same problem, but not a solution!

I can't seem to understand, how all of a sudden it started happening, before that, the clock was absolutely perfect!

Anybody, please????
