The contest for this month is quite simple But first, let's check out what's up for grabs!

The grand prize winner will receive a CoolerMaster Mystique 632 Case (http://www.coolermaster-usa.com/Products.aspx?pid=1248)!

So, how do you go about getting your name in the hat for this sweet case? First, you must be a registered member in the OCIA.net Forums. In light of Halloween, we are hosting a virtual pumpkin carving contest! Entering is simple. First, go Here (http://www.toilette-humor.com/halloween/carve.html) to create your very own virtual pumpkin. Try to keep a CoolerMaster and/or OCIA.net theme with your design. Once finished, save a copy of your best creation (do a print-screen, then paste and crop in a photo editing program) and post it up here for all to see. Remember, only post your very best pumpkin! You can use a free image hosting site such as Image Shack, Photobucket or your own server to host your images.

Once you have posted your entry, send an email with your complete name, forum name, email address and shipping address to october06@ocia.net telling us that you want to enter! The contest will begin on October 3, 2006 and will remain open until October 31, 2006 at Noon, CST.

Shipping will be paid by CoolerMaster to winners in the United States, Canada and Mexico only (meaning this contest is only open to participants in these areas) . All email addresses will be sent to CoolerMaster for inclusion in their Newsletter and will then be deleted from the OCIA.net mail box. The rules also said you have to click on the link and draw a design and using a flash app it not:
First, go Here (http://www.toilette-humor.com/halloween/carve.html) to create your very own virtual pumpkin.
Also two entries look suspicious and there is no way a person has a steady hand to draw them on a mouse and trackball mouse; one is obvious :cough:=CDU=Above:cough and no offence to your design but when you draw on the pumpkin the drawn outline it black.

I agree with werty316, three of the entries are definitely not legit.

I count eight entries that qualify for the prize.

Well, I certainly don't read anything in the rules that barred outside editing. If I'm disqualified, so be it, it was fun. I thought that Nihilist's was also very creative.

Werty, It's more than obvious that I didn't do mine by hand. Did you really think that you had to point that out to improve your chances? If I was trying to sell it as hand drawn I would have added the black outline around the outside and my first entry would not have been this.
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y187/CDUAbove/pumpkin.jpg
I wouldn't think anyone would mistake that as hand drawn.

By the way, I think Nihilist's pumpkin is awesome. It didn't say to draw, but create a virtual pumpkin. I don't care if he wins or not, he did a very good job and what a great idea. Virtual pumpkin indeed. Do you have any idea how much time and talent that took to accomplish. He spent more time on that than anyone spent on any other entry. To me...that shows he really wants the prize.

I say ....Good Job Sir.

The rules also didn't say you could use an app to edit a design ;) You were meant to click on the link and draw a design. Its just common sense and there are no lines in between to read. When I click on the link I can't access any features to make it a flash animation. If playafly187 allowed used to use an app to edit a design he wouldn't have said to click on this link and design a pumkin.

This seems pretty straight forward to me and I didn't know "do a print-screen, then paste and crop in a photo editing program" meant use an app to edit your design.

I didn't enter so my chances have not improved and cheaters never win so why try? Besides it looks like you'll win aCM case on another forum.

Why do people cheat and take the fun out of a contest like this?

Why would you read between the lines? This is straight forward so thinking too much goes out of these lines.

I wanted to try something different, apparently so did two others. Why don't we just let the mods decide? No reason to bicker. If editing was against the rules, then we'll be disqualified. If not, then we won't, and our entries will be judged with the rest.

Well once again I would like to thank everyone for their participation in this months contest and of course CoolerMaster for their continued support of these month contests/giveaways.

I realize there was a bit of arguing about the rules for this month. While the rules were probably not as specific as they could have been (my fault for not being so specific), I originally intended the entries to be simply hand drawn without image modification or or animation used. To be honest, I didn't even think about someone doing that at the time I created the contest...

So, judging as I had originally intended the contest to be held, the winner is:

TMM

I would also like to give an honorable mention to those who did use modification and of course Nihilist's animated entry - that was definitely kick-ass sir, job well done!

Again, thanks to everyone who entered and be on the lookout for November's contest/giveaway to surface very soon...

I have to say...nice play the playfly. It's the only thing you could have done given the drama. Giving credit to Nihilist was top self. It was very cool indeed.
I would like to give a bit of credit myself. My personal favorite was natoelgreato's entry. If you really look at it....you'll see that it's the grim reaper with his pentagram and ocia labled sickle blade (blood dripping) in front of his face and a tombstone behind him. Very cool entry. Good job and congrats to the winner.

Hey,

As we all know, TMM was originally selected as the winner of the Pumpkin Carving contest in our forum. Well, turns out, he did not read the rules regarding shipping and seeing as he lives in Australia (rules say winners only from USA, Mexico or Canada), his entry has been disqualified.

So, I would like to extend the grand prize to natoelgreato.

I hate doing this to one of our members but the rules are the rules (plus it is very expensive to ship a case to Australia).

Thanks again to everyone who entered.
