just outside of santa rosa, new mexico... 6:11 am CST... and all of the sudden, the highway turns to ice! so we are crusing around 30 mph now... lovely

You probably aren't aware of the fact that though New Mexico is in the American Southwest, and though much of it is desert, the mean elevation is over 5000 ft (1500m) above sea level. Actually, the Rocky Mountains are also in New Mexico. The highest point is like 13,000 ft (3950m)

There is lots of snow and ice in New Mexico. They generally get more snow there than we do here in Mississippi...which is very little.

Its a trip...in autumn, it can be like 100F...and you can see a snow capped mountain.

We will be leaving here soon and heading to the MGM Grand for The Tech Zone CES party...

Aside from the snow.. getting into New Albequque was some incredible landscaping. I love it in New Mexico. (been there once.. but had a hell of a time)
