That's pretty cool. I don't follow the top 3DMark spots any more, I take it that guy was one of the top players?

Neither do I... it's not hard to get the highest score when manufacturers SEND you the newest stuff BEFORE it's out...

3DMark "triple-crown" holder, at least back in the summer he was.
Manufacturers will send you free stuff if you can put their products on top.

I'm more impressed with people that get the new stuff before it is released. Screw the overclocking...getting the stuff for free rulez. LOL

Giving free stuff to people who love to brag about scores, that have more time than everyone else, more money than everyone else, and troll forums like a lunatic posting scores that NDA will allow... is a good marketing ploy for manufacturers, stir up the hype...
Just irritates me when they boast about scores done with hardware they didn't pay for or that is just plain more advanced/faster than what is available to everyone else.
Then to see flocks of noobs praise these individuals like they're some kind of god just makes me sick to my stomach.

Personally to me, all this overclocking to get a highest score means nothing. I think true overclocking is a 24/7 running machine that has 1) a case 2) improved performance. What good a machine if you have to keep adding liquid nitrogen? ( I think that is what it was) and how much gaming can he really do at those settings? If he can even game what difference whould it make for him? Exaclty Zero!

Totally agreed with silenze and avalanche, what i like in overclocking is to push mid-range quality hardware to achieve same/similar or even better performances then overpriced or overrated hardware. Not especially to gain more FPS and such in games or whatever I just enjoy tweaking the system to the max.
Pretty much like cars, if i ever have a car you can be sure i'll build a damn sleeper.
I often think about winning a million dollar, i would for sure have the temptation to buy the top of the line rig and i would probably buy it. But i'm also sure i wouldn't be as happy as i am with my "hard" earned hardware..
