My Dell Optiplex at work gave up the ghost the other day.

Tech came onsite and swapped out the motherboard and power supply, thanks to Dell's standard 3 year warranty on the Opti's!
Guess F@H doesn't sit well with a high-end processor and the skimpy power supplies Dell puts in their systems.

is that a fried 4 pin mobo connector? my old celeron fried its 4 pin connector
we use the little optiplex GX520s at work. I'm constantly calling dell for replacement PSUs due to either the fans dying or the things just going out.

lol, the school i'm doing work for occasionally had 4 of those babies, all 4 died within a week of each other, 1 month after purchase, they got a refund did a big money raising campaign and now have 24 laptops instead of desktop machines, billions of wireless senders needed though (well, 10 in total for proper coverage in a school of <130 pupils)

my school runs those dinky dell's that have the tower racked on the back of the monitor--the PSU's die on those things every 2 or 3 weeks.

*looks around for some wood to knock on*
Good luck with Dells at work so far, though I always order upper models...

Most Dell's i get that don't work is a power supply failure.

When I run across a Optiplex and most other Dells I don't even wait for the PSU to tank I just replace them. Better than it tanking and taking the motherboard with it.
