It seems like not so long ago we hosted our first ever T-Shirt design contest which was a smashing success. Reality is, that was three years ago and well, its time for round two!

I hope to make things a bit easier this time around. First up, the prizes!

The winner of the OCIA.net T-Shirt design contest will receive:

-- $100.00 USD cash via PayPal (so you must have a PayPal account)!

-- A free T-Shirt (your choice of size) featuring your design!

-- Did I mention you will have YOUR design featured on our shirt? How cool is that!

The rules are pretty similar to the previous contest but this time I am totally leaving the creativity up to you! I have had several requests for a black T-Shirt so I will accept designs on both a black and white shirt. Here are some basic templates you can use to see how your shirt would look.

http://www.ocia.net/playafly187/blackshirt.jpg http://www.ocia.net/playafly187/whiteshirt.jpg

So here we go with the few rules and guidelines:

1. Feel free to use the site slogan, "OverClocking the World, One PC at a Time!"

2. If you use the abbreviated version of the site, please do so in this format: OCIA.net (capitalize OCIA and don't forget the .net)

3. The contest will run until April 27, 2007.

4. All submissions to this contest become the property of OCIA.net. This means that if you design something for us, once you submit it, we are allowed to use it as we see fit, if we decide to use it at all.

5. All work must be YOUR OWN. Copyrighted images, etc. are not permissible. If you use someone else's image for anything in your design, you need written permission from them saying you can do so AND permission for OCIA.net to use the copyrighted material. Just play fair, and you won't have to worry about this rule.

6. The employees of OCIA.net and immediate family are not permitted to enter any contest hosted by OCIA.net.

7. The final decision as to the winner will be decided by me, and my decision is final. Once the winner are determined, I will post the results in this thread, so check back often.

8. We reserve the right to use the winners name/nickname for the purpose of the contest.

9. Each person may submit up to 3 different entries/designs.

10. Please save all of your work. If you are chosen as the winner, I will need a high-resolution copy of your image for the printing process.

To submit your entry, simply register for the forums, if you are not already a member, and post your designs here in this thread. Remember that we need a design for BOTH THE FRONT AND BACK of the shirt. Feel free to post works-in-progress, that way other forum members can help give you feedback.

Also try to keep in mind that the design will work best if it is somewhat 'simple'. The goal is to keep the overall cost of printing the shirts to a minimum, that way I can offer them to you guys as cheap as possible (I'm not out to make money on this).

Nice!

Is there a maximum colors we can use ?

Does the first contest thread still exist ? I'd like to see previous submissions and winner.

No there is no maximum color limit but just try to keep it low for production costs.

The previous contest thread is still up but all of the images have been lost.

Here is the current shirt design:

Hmmm... I might have an idea or two ;)

Can you post up links to an "official" OCIA logo? Or can we be creative with it?

playafly187

creativity is good. we actually dont have an official logo, just the 'seal of approval' that we award certain products...

Hey there everyone I've been coming to this site for awhile now usually checking out the latest tips and tricks in the modding section.

I put together a design took me two nights to finish since i had to create some custom brushes and make some t-shirt templates for the back and front of the piece.

Anyhow here it is.
http://www.mechlivinglegends.net/Criminal/competitions/ociaT-shirtblack.jpg

Essentially what i was going for was a very "FBI/ATF" kind of look with the emblem on the chest and large strong lettering on the back. It brings attention to it definitely but is not overly busy so as to look amateurish. In addition as far as printing goes this truly on uses a mix of a single color which when brought to the press will be far more economical than something a little busier and color full...i will be working on the white version of the shirt this evening which will feature a navy blue coloring with the same emblem.

Here are some higher resolution photo's of the emblem on the chest and the back.

I like it, got a question though:

Is that a watch? What happens to the overclocked world at 12:17? hehe :)

04-16-2007, 08:47 PM
haha thanks and not to kill any possible theorizing and mystique around the time it's set it at that ,but that was the exact same time that i was making the clock at 12:17am :D . I finished it at about 12:45am.

Anyways here's the white version i'm not sure if this counts as a second submission but here ya go. A nice navy blue on white very classic colors. But still very official looking! One thing i did fix up though was the size of the text on the arm since on the black one i thought it was a little too big.

again this is meant to be a very simple design as i know how expensive printing the shirts can get especially when you use mulitple colors and very large complex graphics. If this is too simple please someone let me know so i can put some more work into my next submission.

So has the contest ended?

playafly187
04-18-2007, 03:49 PM
no, not yet, I will be extending it for one more week due to lack of interest. you would think people would be all over a cash prize, but maybe not.

Here's my entry for now :)

Things that might work better is possibly removing the little circle logo next to the OCIA.net, and maybe changing the heatsink in teh air box

High Resolution Logo things:

thanks :D yeah teh font is a little weird, ive been lookin for other fonts, but right now that seems to be the best fit :P

it also might look good without any text in the boxes, ive gotta mess around later :P

the logo is actually just the center of the seal of approval award:

Alright my final submission.

This one is alot more "ink" heavy and might be a little costly to print but it looks alot more interesting than my previous pieces.

All aspects of the photo were completely custom made by myself which includes 13 custom brushes and A 3ds rendered wireframe head from one of our high poly game models. All the lighting effects in the head were all composited in photoshop inlcuding the glassy reflection.

I hope you guys like it.

Whew... finally able to post after going through 3 computers.

I based my design off of OCIA's slogan. I would go into more detail, but I'm tired and I'd like to sleep :p
