Say you've got 4 PC users in your house in addition to your VOIP and that broadband pipe just isn't big enough. I've found a couple software solutions that would run on a proxy server but I'm wondering if this simple fix wouldn't work for what I need?
Connect cable modem to VOIP router, this way it is the first device in the string and has first access to the Internet ahead of anything else.
Connect VOIP router to Main PC NIC #1 so that MY Internet services are next in line behind any voice calls.
Connect Main PC NIC #2 to wireless router WAN port and enable ICS on NIC #1.
Connect all other clients (wired or wireless) to wireless router.
If my thinking is correct, any traffic originating from my Main PC is going to take priority over a client connecting through the second NIC. Anyone ever attempted something like this or know if this will work before I go about setting it all up?
