Did a lot in the past, just got out of the habit. Didn't remember my old name offhand, so started a new one.
Man, doesn't take long to get the big numbers now...the average frame back when I was doing it regularly was 250. My first two this time were both 5000.

Do you have the quad core up and folding or are you running it on one of your older systems? Looks like it's time for a sig update!

Yeah, I'm in the middle of seven reviews right now. Just haven't got around to it. Guess I will now.

Sweet. Hey, off topic but how do you like that 8600GTS? Any plans to go SLI with it? Also I noticed you're using the Zalman cooler on it?

Just got the card yesterday...yes...Saturday delivery. Don't know if it was a mistake, or the Geeks actually paid for it. So far, I haven't a clue whether I like it or not. Well...yeah...you know I like it. Haven't had a chance to play a single game with it....my "game drive" got corrupted last week and I had to format it. Haven't reinstalled any of them yet.
Was trying to get ahead of the game on my sig...haven't installed the Zalman yet, won't until after the review. It will definitely be installed...downloaded nTune (GRRRRRR....why should I have to? Screw this suck-assed new nVidia control panel) and discovered a 51C idle with the stock cooler.
But, I do very much like the VF-700Cu, and its Fatal1ty counterpart, the FS-V7. I reviewed each upon its release, and have bought two VF-700Cu since. And will buy another if need be. I broke a capacitor off of my 7900GS last week, and if I fix that, I'll need another cooler. (though, supposed to have something from Zalman....they have been moving kind of slow with stuff lately)
I have no plans for SLI. Though, if I happen to get to review an SLI board, I'd consider buying another.

If you've noticed, Knutsaac is steadily climbing in the ranks. That was my original OCIA stage name, and I decided to use it as it had a higher score. The Quad pays no attention whatsoever to the small amount of CPU usage that F@H takes. I don't even close it while gaming.
I've had the 8600GTS for a while now and like it. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a middle-of-the-road DX10 card.
I thought I was going to get to compare it to an 8800 GTX, but no dice. (see Shawn's dying 8800 thread) I've recently upgraded to Vista, and planning to check out Crysis soon on the 8600.

Good luck with that. To play Crysis smooth with my 5200+ and 8800GT 256MB I have to overclock both the CPU and Video card and play only medium settings. Running XP.

Been playing Crysis for a couple of weeks now, with no problems whatsoever. Very decent FPS with all medium settings, even when running both my monitor and my 37" LCD tv at the same time.
