View Full Version : NZXT HUSH
Well, I have a NZXt HUSH now and it looks like this :

It is quite discrete so I though I might do something to make it a bit more exciting. Maybe make a few nice slits in the side and put in some nice cathodes or something. Do you have any suggestions?

If you are going to stay with air cooling I would put 2 or 4 holes in the side for 120mm fans, down low for the video card and up high for the cpu. If you've got a steady hand with the dremel maybe try something creative like making \ 's across the openings or something to match the front panel design.
Sounds alright. I don't know if I want more fans though but it would allow for more over clocking and that is always nice. :)
I think I have decided to do. I will paint a large silver lambda sign on the side and make many holes in the lamba sign and behind those holes there will be a red cold cathode. I believe it will look awesome!

Sounds interesting, definitely post up pics when you're done!

Maybe put the cathodes just inside the case on the bottom and top as if to light up a window, instead of directly behind the lambda, so that it's not too glarey and bright? :)
You can always move 'em around to, I guess :)
Yea.
The thing is, I don't like to have one large window, but I thought maybe four or nine small square windows. Well, I haven't decided yet, but there will be something this year at least.
Ok this is what i have done so far, just some interior mods. Lights and fans.
Ok, so here is my HUSH, like any other HUSH on the outside, but just you wait...(sorry the bad image quality)

This is what my HUSH holds within it. The two new UV cathodes made a nice touch to my uv reactive psu cables.

Gotta make some kind a hole in the side panel so that the light comes out.

That looks cool! You definitely need to put a window in that panel or just leave the side off.
Yea, but I am afraid to just leave it off. What about the temperatures? The air flow will be really bad if i leave it off right?
I guess it is just best to put in a window...

Unless you're using passive coolers, having no side panel generally helps your temps out because you're getting fresh cool air from everywhere, not just the front.
If you've got an entirely passive cooler somewhere that relies on a direct source of air, it'll take a 2 or 3 degree hit, but nothing major.
But yeah, lovely case you got going on! Some great colors in there :D
Thanx!
Well, it is only the graphics that is pure passive but it is very close to the cpu cooler and gets quite cooled by that one. I use nvidia monitor to check the temps and the actually got lower after removing the side panel. But I got lots more noise :D
