Has anyone ever had trouble like this before when buying a case? I mean dealing with newegg? I was pretty displeased and I have to pay for shipping on the RETURN OF THE ITEM for to get it replaced. I send the pictures to them and requested they pay for it since it was in such bad condition when it reached my doorstep.
just an update. newegg said they're going to try and pick up the shipping for the return. who cares really, i just hadn't posted in a while so i wanted to say something. :D

that sucks it was beat up like it was. Hopefully newegg (or the shipping company) takes the bill for a replacement.

Same thing happened to Keith about a month ago when he ordered a case from Newegg for someone he was building a comp for. They replaced it and all that, but it was a huge stress on him to rig the parts up in an old hacked-up case until the replacement came in almost two weeks later.

Just curious, was it FedEx they used as a shipping company? From the looks of the damage I'd almost bet on it. I deal with FedEx daily and to them it's normal to claim over 2 billion dollars a year in insurance claims. They might get it to you overnight, but they don't really seem to care if it gets to you intact. The unfortunate part of the industry is that most trucking firms insure by the lb, unless a declared value is stated and extra coverage is purchased before shipping. A case can pay out as little as 3 bucks if damaged as yours was, so the extra insurance is usually a good buy to ensure it gets there intact, or at least can be replaced with less grief. Best of luck on that one.
yes it was fed ex. i have to go through the pain of calling newegg and letting them settle it with the shipper and all that jazz. i really don't want to go through all this hassle but yet I don't want to pay an extra 10 bucks in shipping for something that's not even worth 10 bucks as is right now because of all the damage it had

Might be worth a try to put in an insurance claim with FedEx and see what they'll give you for it as well. Generally they do pay out 100% for claims made against them, but not always...however, it's worth a shot as you may be able to just simply get your money back and order a new case without all the extra hassle.
yeah. i've already put my claim in with them and they told me to call newegg, but newegg was closed yesterday so i haven't got to talk to them yet and see what they wanted me to do. newegg said they might just have me dispose of it which i thought was absolutely thrilling as to see that i might not even have to send it back :)

If you get to dispose of it that'd be great! Keep in mind it might make a perfect candidate for some case modding or test modding since it would be of no loss to you at that point.

Damn, FedEx really did a number on that one, GEEZ...Newegg will need the case back though so they can file a shipping damage claim, roadracer_4ever.
actually they just said keep the case and we'll refund your money and just order another one. that means an extra two fans.. (one that's LED fan) and an extra 400w ps
