that brings the cost up to $211.20 or $208.00 without shipping. I can buy this same drive from newegg.com for $205.00. Can you make a better offer, especially since you bought them in bulk for probably around $150.00 a piece or less.

The cost of me is about $180 per drive, with the shipping. I didn't win the box to make money. I need a few drives and that's the cheaper way of getting them. Now I am passing the saving.
I will go ahead and ship them for free with insurance as well.
Please contact me at my email if you are interested.

Well, aside from the hastle I had trying to get it set as the boot disk, I love it. Its hard to see a difference doing most things in and around windows. Where the drive really tends to shine is in loading windows and game levels. I am sure that the 2GB of ram I have helps out a lot too. Even though I had a seagate barracuda (8mb cache 7200 rpm), I can see an improvement. If you consider that the biggest bottleneck is the HD, every bit of speed counts. However, when you consider the price of the drive, those extra few seconds you have to wait loading a level may be worth the 70 bucks you save. As far as noise goes, I dont really notice it over the fans in my system. All in all I like it, seeing as how I am all about preformance. :) But definately for an enthusiasts, everyday users will see plenty of preformance out of a 7200rpm sata drive.

would you care to run SiSoft Sandra's hard drive benchmarking utility? im curious to see how well it performs on a fresh install
you can get the program via our download section on the front page. the hdd utility is inside the program, along with a slew of other benchmarking tools

I tried to do a benchmark yesterday but sandra keep freezing up. My system kept working fine. In fact, I could do cpu benchmarks all day long. I will try again when I get home this evening and see if I can get a different outcome.

are you sure it is freezing? the test usually takes a good 5-7 minutes to complete...

Yeah, I let it set there for a good while, i got tired of waiting. crl alt del, task manager said it wasn't responding. It did that twice, maybe I didnt give it enough time. I ll try again this evening.

Alright, I have some benchmarks from sandra now....
First up is my 80GB seagate barracuad sata 7200rpm 8mb cache:

And here is the 74GB raptor sata 10000rpm 8mb cache:

10 meg increase in throughput! :D
I must say that they are using different sata raid contolers, so I dont know how fair this test is. The barracuda was using the standard intel, and the raptor is on the silicon image contoller. (Both of which are built into my IC7-Max3.) I will do a little more testing this evening.

I just tried to run the benchmark but it is telling me that the test file is too fragmented... go figure
