Hey all,
Personally I've had graphical issues with Far Cry and UT2004 when using any driver newer than 53.03 -- I finally ran across a beta driver that doesn't have either issue, 61.34, so I did some Aquamark3 tests with it. It also turns out to be the best driver I've used in a while, so I thought I'd share some results & feedback.
(These also let you disable the driver optimizations, (for trilinear filtering & anisotropic filtering) which I found to make only a 300-400 point difference, out of over 50,000, in atleast Aquamark3.)
Both scores shown were done with the exact same configuration of the video card.
(I of course did these tests with the stable configuration I use every day.)
Cpu: 2.0Ghz Gpu: 490Mhz Mem: 880Mhz
53.03: 50,476
61.34: 51,174 <-- little bit of a jump never hurts.
61.34 optimizations off, high quality: 50,924
61.34, 2.3GHz: 53,611
Then I played around a little:
Gpu: 505Mhz Mem: 975Mhz Driver: 61.34
2.0Ghz: 53,123
2.3Ghz: 55,914
--------------------
Conclusion: These drivers kick ass. I played through the first 3 levels of Far Cry at 1280x1024x32 with all settings on "high" and machine spec set to "very high" without a hiccup.
( If you want to grab these, or one of the many many other drivers, head to http://www.nvplanet.com )
