I have had farcry installed on my main rig for a few months now. The game works flawlessly in single player mode, but when I try some multiplayer, something weird happens. I start out normal, frame rates very smooth. Then as time passes (about 10 - 15 minutes) the game slowly becomes so laggy that it is unplayable.
I thought this was simply an internet gaming issue, but after having it happen last night at a LAN party, I know this to not be true. Computer specs below:
AMD Athlon XP 1700 @ 2174 MHz
512 MB Corsair TwinX PC3200 XMS Dual Channel RAM
ThermalRight SLK900U
Epox 8RDA+
GeForce Ti 4200 @ 300/560
Western Digital 80 GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache ATA/100
400w Zalman Silent PSU
I searched on the official Farcry message boards and found that a few others were having this same problem. Can anyone here relate?

since I lost the manaul to my FarCry Cd's and no longer have a CD key i cant play online since my last re install :(
I saw a farcry optimization guide somewhere, i'll see if i can dig it up, it might have something that will help.

I don't know what happened with that. I had read from two different places that it would be out that Monday, then nothing, and not a word from anyone else about it.

I did find this little bit of info
http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/6/ubb.x?a=tpc&s=400102&f=452106891&m=291104415
So it should be very soon.

I just got my new computer together not long ago and tried that game.
Didn't realize it at first but when I did check cus it was lagging on my A64..........that thing was using over 500MB of ram........
Total memory (Page file and Physical) was over 700MB!!!!
I only have 512!
maybe there's the problem.

maybe if you put it on your xmas list........ santa will bring you a free copy.......heheh
but seriously, you can pick up an OEM copy at newegg for real cheap... or even better, if you buy an athlon 64 from there, they give you a copy for free!

The 1.2 patch is finally out you can download it from File Shack
http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/32731
However, as of a half hour ago it was still not on ubi's site.
**Me pops open another Corona Extra and waits on the download**

After installing the new patch and giving it a test run, my system kept crashing back to the desktop. After doing some checking, I learned that I was not the only one having problems. Apparently almost every one running ATi cards is having the same problem with patch 1.2
I find this is a huge oversight by Ubi and am very disappointed with the new patch.
Fortunately there is an easy fix, just uninstall FarCry and reinstall without patch 1.2

Just when I seem to get FarCry patch 1.2 working OK with my Radeon graphics card, Ubi decides to recall the patch all together. :x
Incase anyone is wondering what I did to get it working, startiing a new game in SP (don't ask me why it would make any difference) seemed to do the trick.
I'm on dial-up so I don't play MP, your own your own there.
