I was just looking at a USB to IDE adapter @ R&B Mods that looks like the ticket if your like I am and swaping out HDD drives often. Also works with burners, DVD, ect.

I think I'm going to try one .
looks like a neat product. if you do get one let us know how it works out for you. i think it's a neat concept.

well i actually got it in at the same time as a few other things. so i'll let you'll be the judge :-)
which would you rather see the review of first:
the USB to IDE adapter
or
a wireless X-10 camera knockoff
like i said, i got them at the same time, so it doesn't really matter which one is released first

I don't like the Molex adapter. It seems very strange and it should be grounded to the case, as it seems. The 12V wires do not seem reliable and, though they can probably power an IDE drive, I'd either get a seires of molex extensions going from the case or I'd use a long speaker wire cut in two and set up to do 12V, ground, ground, and 5V to the provided molex adapter. Just cut off the molex adapter, strip the wires, and attach them to long wires that go straight from your power supply.
