ok ok i admit it, i willingly bought a thermaltake case with skulls on it...it was ugly, really ugly, and some of the 'features' supposed to help it with things like cooling actually made it look and perform worse.
if anyone else has one of these cases here are a few things you can do to improve the look and performance without spending much if any money.

1: rip out the swinging arm that holds the agp intake fan and make holes to screw the fan to the side panel.

2: take out the window by removing the little 'pins' that hold it in, and put the window on the inside of the panel. (this will mean painting the edges of the side panel under where the window used to be.

3: take the box that holds the exhaust fans off and smash it with a large, heavy object  , cut out the fan grilles and screw the exhaust fans onto the back. when i did this my cpu temps decreased by almost 10 degrees!!!

4: if your mobo power connector is on the right hand side of the mobo (towards the drive bays) run the psu motherboard connector behind the detatchable motherboard tray and through the hole then to the connector.

5: rip out that ugly el skull logo on the front, replace it with something tastefull.

6: remove the "skull" writing from the aluminium panel on the front. note: BE CAREFULL Ive heard that some solvents can affect anodized aluminium badly. I used Selleys kwik strip and that didn't affect the colouring but took the paint off quite nicely.

I went and got the Xaser III "Super Tower" in black with that blaring red backing they had on the front.... That got to be too much... Went and painted it True Blue Pearl. Turned out really sweet and matched the blue LED fans I had running inside. My system died that I had running in it so now I'm trying to figure out if I want to completely gut it and integrate some of the good things about it into the case I'm running now or try to build another system in it or possibly just sell the damned thing.

BTW, Does the skulls case have an EL light on the front? Just wondering cause mine died in under 6 months. (Looks like a weak connection right below the solder joints)

yea my case did have an el logo on the front but it was different to the one on your case, heres a link to my case http://www.thermaltake.com/xaserCase/vm3000/vm3000a.htm
it sounds sweet how you painted the red part on the front. did you use any special type of paint? and how much preparation did it take to get the surface ready? cos mines got quite a rough finish on it.
I wouldnt sell teh case unless theres something you dont like about it, or unless you just want another case more :) in the end its up to you, i reckon its a good case but everyone has their own oppinion

yeah, i agree, that skull case is a bit too much....

ive actually thought of building a sleeper case... just a simple, plain case, with killer internals..... why? i dunno.... something different i guess...

Bah... I don't care for Xasers, their mostly badly done premods. If I buy a case I either look for a nicely done premod, or a case that won't hinder me when I try to mod it.

to the contrary I've found my xaser to be very mod friendly. and by the way, show me a 'good' looking premod case (and no i dont consider lianli or antec cases to be premods, maybee the only one is that (coolermaster?) one with the blue 120mm led fan in the front
