I herd rummer that they will have a playable Doom3 deathmatch at QuakeCon, so it could be the real thing or at least a beta copy.

Looks pretty real to me...........except (I might be wrong about this) that case seems a little small for 6 CDs.

And why 6CD's? A DVD would make more sense for most people. (It's sounds like, if you have a PC that meets the minimum game requirements you'd likely have at least a DVD drive, if not a burner on board.)

I dunno... if it's real it's one hell of a PS job.

i had a playable demo ... early beta version of the game and my frame rates were pretty low. you're going to have to have a very nice card to run it.

it just hasn't been optimized yet. anyone remember the UT 2003 demo. everyone thought you would have to have a top of the line system for it, but it will play on my bro's box (1ghz duron, 384mb RAM, gf4 ti4200)

when they get all of the compressions/optimizations down, it will be playable on most computers. you have to take into consideration that the majority of gamers can't afford to upgrade every time a new game comes out. thus the game creators have to release it in a form that that majority of consumers can play with.

granted, you aren't going to be able to run with all the settings maxed unless you have one of the new ATI/Nvidia cards and a kickin processor/RAM, but i'd say 80% of the people that visit this forum will be able to play it at 1280x1024 with medium texturing :-)
