Bios Question

Is there anyone that knows about Boot Block and ESCD in older Asus boards that use AFLASH for bios updates?
I was going to flash the bios on a Asus TUSI-M board and the manual said to select "Update Bios Including Boot Block and ESCD".
The only option when trying to update the Bios was "Update Bios Without Boot Block and ESCD"

What is this Boot Block and ESCD, and is it necessary when updating the bios.
And if so any ideas on how to make this option availible .

I have looked all over the Asus website without any luck.

I never tried it that way I always do it the way it comes up default!
