Looks like ATI is sticking it to nVidia once again.

X800 XT is anywhere from 2X to 2.5X as fast as 9800XT in 3DMark03, maintaining performance parity with NV40 until the NVIDIA GPU's 8X AA mode conspires to suck its performance away. ATI's 6X AA shines yet again.

Will this trend ever end. nVidia releases something superb, and then ATI bends them over and releases something better, that requires less space and less power.

the latest that i have heard, according to [H], is that Nvidia is the card to have for DOOM 3:

lol, this reminds me of the infamous AMD vs Intel bashings that appear on every forum around. i honestly don't know which one i would go with. guess i prolly won't really be able to decide until I have to buy a new video card, which might actually turn out to be fairly soon.

Yeah, as far as D3 is concerned Nvidia is the card of choice. The 6800GT beat the x800xt PE in D3 benchmarks, which is rather sad.

But on the other hand ati has beat out nvidia in just about every other game benchmark so its not all that bad. I'll be playing D3 on my ATI card :)

yeh, i mean either way, you're not going to notice any real world difference between the two

Ah yes now the tides have turned, ATI is struggling to make their X800's keep up with the 6800's in Doom3 with their latest drivers...
