"Manning put up eye-popping numbers at the University of Mississippi, where he set 47 school records. He completed 829 of 1,363 passes for 10,119 yards and 81 touchdowns. As a senior in 2003, Manning won the Maxwell Award, given to the nation’s top collegiate player, and the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, given to the nation’s top senior quarterback. He finished third in the Heisman Trophy balloting. He was an All-Southeastern Conference first-team pick and named the SEC Offensive Player of the Year by The Associated Press and the league’s coaches"

Marshall QB's

Chad Pennington:

"Great athlete with excellent size and toughness...Finds alternate receivers quickly and shows exceptional pocket presence...Polished deep passer with a fluid over-the-top release...Holds the ball high, consistently firing tight spirals upfield...Has the mobility to break tackles & puts tremendous zip on his short tosses...Can step away from the rush & is very adept at hitting his receivers on crossing routes...Recently timed at 4.88 in the 40-yard dash...Holds the Mid-American Conference career-record with 103 touchdown passes (Marshall joined the MAC in 1997)...His 123 total scoring tosses (played in the Southern Conference prior to 1997) and 14,098 passing yards established school career-records...Has thrown for over 300 yards in 19 games and had at least three touchdown passes in 25 games during his tenure with the Thundering Herd... Also set school all-time records with 1084 completions of 1712 passes & 14,036 yards in total offense...His pass completion percentage of 63.3 topped Michael Payton (62.2%, 1989-92) in Marshall annals"

Byron Leftwich:

"One of the most prolific passers in college football annals, setting Mid-American Conference career records for passing yards and total offense … Three-year starter who was the unquestioned leader of one of the most explosive offenses in the country … Hit on 939 of 1,442 passes (65.1 percent) for 11,903 yards, 89 touchdowns and only 28 interceptions, while amassing 12,090 yards of total offense on 1,632 plays, ranking second on the school's all-time record lists behind Chad Pennington (1,026 of 1,619 passes for 13,143 yards, 115 touchdowns and 13,048 yards in total offense, 1995-99) … His 11,903 yards passing broke the MAC career record of 11,299 by Tim Lester of Western Michigan (1996-99) while his 12,090 yards in total offense set another conference all-time record. I don't blame you for being a fan seeing you went to the school, it's just I don't think he's as good as anyone thinks. For one he refused to play for San Diego. That shows poor sportsmanship. Payton didn't complain when he was drafted by the colts when they sucked. I just think he's too whiney.

Oh and Beemer let's not forget that Marshall beat K State last year on their home turf :D.
