Recently started noticing a popping sound, and slowdown of my MP3's when I type. The faster I type, the worse it gets. I have an Audigy 2 MP3 sound card, and have disabled the onboard sound (no drivers for onboard installed) currently not running overclocked, gig of Infineon ddr333, FX 5200 vid card, Windows XP pro, 2 WD 40 gig IDE hdd's, 5 fans, and an FSP 400 watt psu. Any ideas?

With these strange problems, I always tend to the easiest solution.

A clean fresh reinstall!!!

Fresh install done about 2 weeks ago, but I was beginning to think the same thing myself, and it's not to hard to back up what I need to keep onto the second drive....just a pain re-installing all my games and such, but beats suffering with the annoying pos, and slowdowns. I keep up to date on drivers, anti-spyware apps are updated and run regularly as is anti-virus, but alas.....every once in a while Windows just messes up (trying to be kind and not say all the time...lol...) to bad there aren't more games for linux!

It could also be a bad sound driver that recently was instaled.

Also, try swaping out keyboards. If your using a PS2 keyboard, try a USB or USB to PS2 what ever the case.

the reason i asked about what player, is that i had this same problem with winamp. i had to go into the settings and increase the buffer sizes by 2x. fixed the problem, everything sounds great now... this was with my audigy 1, btw...
