I remember a dream I had as a kid - I was being chased by a steam roller. There was really high guardrail on one side and a rock face on the other side of the road. I had no where to go, so I just ran. So I am running, but not at normal speed. I am going twice as fast as my hardest sprint. I turn around and there is no steam roller in sight! All that running made me really tired, so I stopped in the road. Before I can catch my breath, I glance behind me to see a steam roller barrelling right for me. I get up to start running but my legs seem to be twice has heavy. The steam roller keeps coming and is catching up with me! I look over my shoulder only to find that its right behind me. Next thing I know I trip and I am crawling on my back looking up at this gigantic steam roller :wake up:

I once had a dream where I was riding in a dune buggy driven by an elephant named Mojo. It was dark and something was chasing us on one of those freeways you see in big cities, with the overlapping overpasses one on top of the other. All the street lights were orange and green and I kept telling Mojo to slow down, but he wouldn't. :P

And after we lost whatever was chasing us, I wound up in a Kmart at like 3 in the morning where some little Vietnamese guy was asking me where to find something (with very broken English) and I kept telling him I didn't work there and couldn't tell him.

My most memorable dream to date. Everyone I've told about it seems to get a kick out of it.

lol good one, Kattikawn

I remember a dream I had, like 4-5 times in the same 2-week timespan. My family and I are on the top of this cliff over looking this incredibly beautiful valley, and we are sitting like 10 feet from the edge eating our sack lunches. Well, as I'm sitting there, the wind picks up, and blows my empty brown paper bag out over the edge, and I get up and run to the edge and jump off in the same fasion as James Bond jumping off of the dam in the beginning of Golden Eye (though my dream occured 3-4 years before that movie came out). As I'm falling closer to the bag, all is silent, but I can still feel the intense wind against my body. About half-way down (after about 12 sec of falling) I finally catch up to the bag and grab it. I'm really excited that I totaly forget that I'm falling, but I soon snap out of it and realize that I'm going to hit the ground soon. I turn back to look at the ground (which is really close now) and about 10 feet away from impact I wake up.

Funny thing is it's kinda scary, but not nearly as scary as you might think a dream like that would be. Anyway, glad I don't have that one anymore :)

Haha, oh yea, I just remembered another one! Probably the best dream I've ever had was like a week after I bought Final Fantasy 3 for Super NES. I was thinking about it right before I went to bed, and so when I fell asleep I actually dreamt that I was sitting in front of the TV playing FF3! I remember that dream distinctly, not only because I got to play Nintendo while I slept too  , but also because I knew while I was dreaming that I was dreaming. You guys ever have those dreams? The ones where you know you're dreaming in your dream?

Anyway, really cool. I tried every night that week after that to think really hard about FF3 before I went to sleep in hopes of playing it again in my dreams, but it never happened :( Only that one time... that one, perfect, blissful time...

Best dream I ever had

I remember this dream where it was lightning out and all. A giant crab wearing loafers was chasing me down a beach. You know in those dreams the monster can run as FAST as they want, but you just can't get the speed necessary to get away!

Those are the dreams you have were you have the leg spasm that tries to wake you up, you know what im talking about? then you wake up for a second and fall right back into that dream where the crab is waiting. Never happens when your dreaming about Cindy Crawford in Hawaii now does it? Never can fall back into that dream.

Anyway, I called a buddy of mine and had to tell this one to him. He tells me to hang on a sec and i can hear him flipping through a book. Turns out he's all into those dream books that tell you what everything means.

So he's looking it up,"Crabs, crabs, crabs, here it is..... dude, your gay! Says here that if a giant crab chases you in your dream and your running away from it, its your gayness! Oh and the lightning? Emphases the gay. He wasn't wearing loafers was he? OOOHHH NOOOO! That means your ultra mega gay"

This really didn't happen to me :) It was a funny Dane Cook skit off his comedy cd..... very funny stuff though.

I had those when I was a kid and sometimes I could control my dreams. One time I knew I was dreaming and I was at school so I was like screw this, this is a dream. Left school went to the Arcade and all the games were on Free Play....SWEETT!!! Then the alarm goes off!!! @#^)*

From reading some of these it makes me think of a point I wanted to bring up about how when your dreaming and it's like a nightmare and you die in your dream how you wake up...does any one feel pain in their dreams? I had one and Freddy Cruger was after me in an office building, trapped me and sliced me up and it hurt! and I woke up....crazy stuff....I feel back asleep but then I remembered it was a dream so somehow I turned into some bad ass ninja and killed Freddy Cruger with throwing stars and stuff...it was pretty sweet.

I had an odd dream, I don';t know if it was incomplete or what. I've had it several times. Anyway....

Me and my friends are driving down a barren dirt road trees on either side. There is a rather thick fog around. We get into an accident and when I regain consciousness I'm alone and laying by a lake. about 100-200 feet from shore is an old truck have submerged in the watter just sitting there. In the truck is a figure of a ghostly figure and a little boy. They are both wet and extremely pale. They just sit there staring at me, not asking for help or saying anything for that matter just starting....
I woke up

Not sure what it means

I agree with the pain feelings.... i got bit by an electric eel in one of my dreams. Right in the back. My back hurt like hell the next day on that spot.

I asked someone about this and they told me its because your muscles tighten up so bad it actually feels like something really bit you since your brain thought it was real.

In reading all of these dreams, maybe we should get a physcologist to analyize our dreams and tells us what they mean

Trunks - with regard to your truck in the lake dream... I'm not sure I believe that dreams tell us anything EXTREMELY profound, but I'm sure they can tell us something... I mean, afterall, rarely do two people have the same dream, so they've got to be at least a little unique to the person having them. Anyway, to the point, if I had to guess what your dream may mean, I would assume that the truck in the lake is your crashed vehicle that you were driving. Now, either you were thrown from the vehicle (or swam away and passed out on the shore) and are looking at two of your friends in the truck (dead, obviously), or you are that little boy with one of your friends next to you (both dead) and are experiencing an out-of-body experience from the shore where you lie.

So, if I had to guess then, I'd say your dream was about one of two things: you're having a great time with your friends, with you in control, and then you make a mistake and bring down your friends with you, or you narrowly escape and your friends take the brunt in your stead (and aer glaring at you for it).

LOL I'm probably having too much fun reading into that dream.

yes, i have had those types also. i once got stabbed in the chest in a dream... woke up, and it hurt like crazy.. it actually scared me pretty bad...

also, i have had the dreams where you know your dreaming. one example... in a dream, i was about to eat a piece of chicken... i took a bite, and it had no taste... right then i was like, 'what the hell, this is a dream!'. the bad thing is when you can't wake up, even if you are trying...

as for the dreams where you die... ive jumped off of a building before in a dream.. right before i hit the ground, i woke up in a cold sweat.... crazy stuff...

I know this may sound a bit crazy, but bear with me. I have had short (say 5 seconds to a minute) dreams that I dont remember when I wake up. Sometime later- no set length of time it could be a days weeks or months later- I will experience my dream in real life and have this weird since of deja vu as I remember my dream. It's never anything lengthy - anywhere from 5 seconds to a minute's worth of dream and I can never remember it before it happens. I dont know anything about the situation in my dream or the events leading up to it, but I know my thoughts and my actions during the few seconds. Its very weird, and a little creepy. Anyone else had such dreams?

It's a glitch in the matrix!

But seriously..

All the time, it happens to everyone whether they realize it or not.

It makes one start questioning things... like the perception of time... perception IS reality - food for thought. ;)

Supposedly Deja Vu's are experienced because the sub consciounce can react faster to a sight than your consciousness. So you think you've seen something before, when it's really just your brain catching up.

There has got to be some spelling error in this post.

So what your saying is that I have memory errors - if only I could loosen my timings or maybe back down my FSB?

It is really weird because my dreams can be a month before something actually happens.

You should run memtest to make sure it's not your short term mem, but I think that maybe because of your round IDE cables, you get so many retries with your long term mem.
Try changing to flat ones.

Don't feel bad, I have the same experiences :?

Personally I think its due to having more cache, allowing me to store more references that may be needed at a future time

honestly i have the same problem with beemer. i swear to you not at least once every two weeks i experience deja vu. weird. i have some odd dreams though. here's one...

I was a penguin and following my family in the snow. I slide down this hill by accident only to find when i reach the bottom it's all ice walls and i can't get back up. i look around more and notice that it's like a cone shape. i can't get back up out of the hole and i woke up.

Well, to analyze your dream, you obviously are dreaming about linux. When you stray away from linux - the rest of the penguin family - you get trapped into something you cant get out of - windows. You cant get out, but others can come in after you- windows is known for that. If you would have stuck with your linux family you would have been out in the open or should I say open source. While you are still vulnerable to attack in the open, you can see the attack coming from far away, and your able to prepare for it or possibly prevent it. So your dream is really about the Linux vs. Windows. Next time go linux, you wont end up in a hole

I can remember a dream where I was in Tunica (local town around here) and a giant rip appeared in the sky. Everyone was freaking out and the news kept reporting on it but nothing ever came of it. Days went on and it stayed, but it was getting a little bigger and then some chunks of rock started coming out of it. Then it started getting all freaky and right before nightfall one night when I was outside of my grandparents house, BAM, and huge ad popped out of it. The news said it was a new ad system to get folks attention.

Then I realized that was so freakin stupid that I was dreaming, so I looked at my car (the 3000GT at the time) and turned it into a Ferrari F50 and burned tires all over the town having a blast since I was probably gonna wake up soon. It was neat. I kept looking at stuff and changing it.

So what's the story on this one beemer?

rofl great explanation beemer :).

I was sitting here reading this thread and I remember a dream I had about half a year ago. I was dreaming I was a wide receiver playing football for some pro team (can't remember) and it was the last play and i was making a dive for the football to make the winning touchdown and I could see a player on the opposite team heading right for me and right as he hit me BAM... I wake up with a sore head. I had dove out of my bed into my nightstand. My brother and dad came rushing back here to see what happened... it was quite scary because I could have hit my temple on the corner (which i was really close to). All in all I ended up with a head ache all that day.
