Guys, remember last week I asked about the dead hard drive?

Well today I got a new one and I put it in my mom's system and guess what. Nothing happening.

Before I put in the drive, I could post at least, now nothing.
Pulled everything except for CPU, RAM and mobo.
Noticed the CPU fan wasn't spinning. Noticed the cpu fan wire was connected to the case fan socket and not the CPU fan socket.
Checked the CPU for any visible burn marks, looks great.
Reconnected the HSF, cleared the CMOS, power up, nothing.

Tried PSU in other system, worked like a charm.
Have no other system available to check CPU (celeron 1300) or other mobo or are they on sale.
Somehow don't think the CPU is fried, never got hot or anything, never had the power on for more then 10 secs.

Little light on the mobo shines peacefully.

TUSL2-C with celeron 1300
384 mb Ram, 2 sticks, tried seperately, without, nothing
No beeps no nothing.

Crap, it's my mom's computer, that's the worst thing, and she's blaming me!

Anybody any suggestions of what else I could try?

Are any of the case fans / PSU fans turning now?

If I connect the Hard Drive, it'll spin up, teh one thing that won't spin (and to my idea gets no power at all) is the HSF.

Hehe, finally bad English

Try testing a different fan on the CPU fan header, and see if there is power going to the header.

Just before setting flames to the mobo with its processor and memory, I decided to run them outside the case and guess what: the HSF spinned up.
I'm writing you from the comp aamaf.

I guess something was shorted some how. Thank god, There was no reason to die on me so quickly.

I even installed SP2 without probs

Did you find a loose screw or other metal hiding in the case somewhere?

It could also be a bad connector on the PSU.

Wiggle a wire and it quits working, bump the wires and it works again.

Stuff like that can make it a pain trying to find the source of the problem.
