CPU Temps!!!

What temp is too hot??? P4 2.4B running at 2.88 w/ stock cooling. Idle temps are fine around 38C, but under load temps jumped to 57C. Is that OK or should I be worried?

Yeh 38 is fine. Under load 57 is high but nothing to get too worried about. I would look into getting another heatsink though

p4's have throttling and auto shutdown features for overheating, so don't worry about it too much.

i would get a new heatsink though

yeah, it may not cause problems, but personally, I dont like running anything over 50C. I have also noticed more stable, higher overclocks running under 50C...

I notice a broad range of temps with my p4. Nothing to worry about really.

It seems to be running fine @ 2.95 running no more than 54C under full load. Not sure why it was running so high before. Thanks for the responses.
