Gay DVD Burner

Anyone ever heard of a DVD Burner not able to use bootable CDs? When installing windows, I had to get a new cd-rom from a friend to use. The DVD got to the "press any key to boot from cd" and locked up. I tried running Memtest and As the CD started to spin, the computer restarted, and it kept doing this over and over until I decided that was enough. I'm convinced that either DVD Burners made by Pioneer blow, or something is just F'ed up.

I have a slot-loading Pioneer DVD drive, not a burner, but I won't use my writer for reading cd's. Yes, it boots just fine, and has outlasted the cd burner I bought with it.

i had a slot load pioneer that booted just fine. however, it started clicking and now, sadly, no longer works.

You're questioning the integrity of your ram in another thread, maybe you should check that out first.. ;)

Never used a Pioneer drive so I can't comment on them..
