Battlefield 1942

Hey just bought it, was on sale:p Anyway I was playing for a bit earlier got to the second level and for no apparent reason the computer restarted. I thought this wierd but heard it can happen with overclocking. But I also think the specs for this game are really week, like a minimum of 500 mhz. Not to mention if Doom 3 won't crash my computer why would this.

Any who I check the system check thing provided with the game and everything passed except my processor speed while overclocked is -2198mhz...yes MINUS...any ideas?

You might check to see if there has been any patches released for the game and run a search on Google to see if anyone else has had problems with that game crashing.

The -2198mhz is a little strange, not sure whats going on there.
If it makes you feel any better I have my 2600+ clocked at 2.4, and Windows lists it as "Unknown CPU type"

yeh, you definitely need to get all patched up. bf1942 has like 2-3 patches that should help alleviate it.

I play both, i personally like vietnam better, the desert combat mod is cool, but im just waiting on battlefield 2 which is already set in now a day combat.

I tried it online some... but they all knew the maps... and the gameplay is sloppy.. *shrug* (for example; compared to ut2004..)

I am the opposite, Vietnam is a very cool game, but there are quite a few 2 man vehicles - one to drive and one to shoot. I like being able to do both because the bots cant drive for crap, nor can they aim a gun on a moving vehicle. Its very frustrating for me.....

I like getting in the Attack Chopper (Huey or Cobra) get a good Co-Pilot, and you can own the map. I fly with a stick, so im pretty good, dcx im a little sluggish with.

yeh, if you can fly well in dxc, you'll own at vietnam, but if you just practice your flying in vietnam, you're gonna crash a few times in dcx :-)

kew, techniq and i both play online fairly frequently. sometimes siq and tenaciouspd play with us as well
