Have any of you ever had a great idea, only to find a few years later that it has been released and someone is making millions off of it?

Here are a few that come to mind without thought:

I remember back in 9th grade (some 7 years or so ago), we had to write a journal topic in English class. This was just a few months after I got my first computer and I had Road Runner. I wrote my journal on what I called "Internet 2"... make a seperate internet for boradband users only.

And what do we have today? Yep, that right, Internet 2 http://www.internet2.edu/

Another example:

I don't remember exactly how old I was, but I was a huge wrestling fan. I thought it would be the greatest idea to make a tape / cd of all of the wrestlers entrance music.

A year or so later, what does the WWF release? Yep, that right, MY idea, a cd with the entrance music...

---------------

And now, a few of MY ideas that you will probably see in the near future...

A vaccume that is cordless. Store it on a charger when not using it, then when it comes time to vacuume the carpets in the house, unplug it from the charger, and vacuume wirelessly. How many times have you had to unplug the vacuume, move the cord to a closer socket, then continue about?

Another one..... mud tires. You see mud tires today with huge grips on them... But just on the tire part that touches the ground. Why not put these same grips on the inner and outer sidewalls of the tires??

I thought up when I was a kid to put small receivers(with alarm) on TV remotes, keys, glasses, etc. and press a button on a base that makes the receivers alert you to their location.

They now have something like this.
