OCIA.net T-Shirt Design Contest

OCIA.net has teamed up with several of our sponsors in order to create the ultimate case cooling prize package. Our goal in gathering up the prizes for this contest is to assist the winners in cooling down their hot rig, which will in turn allow for plenty of OverClocking! OCIA.net is in need of a new t-shirt design, and this is where you come in. Put your graphic design skills to the test and submit your best design for entry into the contest. You can create your design using any software you wish. If possible, try to keep the number of colors to a minimum, to help keep printing costs down. The winning design will be printed on a plain white t-shirt.

The back of the t-shirt should contain the "big picture" so to speak. For the front left chest area, we are just looking for something simple like the site name / slogan or whatnot. Feel free to use our site slogan, "OverClocking the World, One PC at a Time" anywhere in your design. Should you use the abbreviated version of the site name, be sure to include .net ( OCIA.net ), for legal reasons of course To submit your entry, simply register for the forums, if you are not already a member, and post your completed designs here in the forums. Remember that we need a design for both the front and the back of the shirt.

So what sort of prizes are we looking at?

Please read all of the rules below before entering in the contest. Should you have any questions, you can post them here and one of the OCIA staff will reply ASAP.

- The contest will last for 1 month from the date of opening, ending at 11:59pm on April 17th, 2004. Update!! Due to us having a week of downtime and changing hosts, we are extending the deadline. The new deadline is 11:59pm on April 30th, 2004. We were only down 7 days, but to make it up to you, you get almost an extra week on top of those lost 7 days.

-All submissions to this contest become the property of OCIA.net. This means that if you design something for us, once you submit it, we are allowed to use it as we see fit, if we decide to use it at all.

-All work must be YOUR OWN. Copyrighted images, etc. are not permissable. If you use someone else's image for anything in your design, you need written permission from them saying you can do so AND permission for OCIA.net to use the copyrighted material. We do not have time to check every submission to see if it is completely original. If someone comes back on us for an image that you designed, but stole part(s) from them, we will send them on to you. Just play fair, and you won't have to worry about this rule.

-The employees of OCIA.net and immediate family are not permitted to enter any contest hosted by OCIA.net.

-Entries must be received before the final closing date. Late entries will not be considered.

-The final decision as to the winner/s is decided by the OCIA staff, and our decision is final. Once the winners are determined, we will post the results in this thread, so check back often.

-We reserve the right to use the winners name/nickname for the purpose of the contest.

-Shipping will be paid by the OCIA staff to winners in the United States. Contest winners outside of the U.S. will be required to pay for shipping.

-Only one entry per person.

-We reserve the right to ammend the rules at any time as we see fit.

Nomad: It more than likely is because wherever you are putting these submissions doesn't allow external linking. Striker, before the sight went down we told the contestants that they could submit multiple color schemes of their ideas, as long as it is the same design. So it's still ok to submit multiple color schemes, just don't go overboard and give us 40 color palettes

The 3rd one had more to it than a color change though (although roughly the same layout, but with a fan). I would bring it up in the other contest topic which other people like, suggestions, etc. Also, this topic is supposed to be entry only, so after a day or so, I will move over all these discussions to the duscussion topic of the contest.

overall, a good design. the only thing i would suggest for you is maybe instead of centering your text on the front, shrink it and place it over the left chest area.

btw, this is just a personal preferece :)

i also thought the jumpers idea was very original. re-submit it if you do get the time.

Oc378: I'm not sure if you read here regularly since you only have 1 post, but I thought I'd give you some feedback on your submission. I like your 3D worth and text, but not sure I like the arrow sticking out (it just doesn't read well). Also, on the oval OCIA.net for the front left, I would try to smooth out the shadows and seems so it reads as 1 object, and not 2 which have been mirrored. Other than that I really like your submission. What program ddi you do your rendering/layout in?

Thanks for the feedback guys :) , I removed the arrow and meter; and also reworked the front a bit. The program I use is called Ulead 3d Cool.

cool design. the only thing that i wonder is this: ive seen pics of that 'engine pc' around the net. im not sure, but you might have to have permission from the owner to use his pic... unless of course you ARE the owner... lol

I have seen numerous different pictures like that, I checked into this picture very closely before using it and it is not copyrighted that I can find, the picture is also fairly old.
