OK..I have a M-2600+ & an Asus A7N8X Ver.2.0 w/ the latest BIOS. I can run a multiplier of 12.5, no problems. When I try to set it to 13.0 in the BIOS, CPU-Z reports a multiple of 5.0 So, just out of curiosity I set it to 13.5 and reboot, CPU-Z now says I have a multiple of 5.5
Am I missing something? Any suggestions?

Mmm, I know earlier versions of this board have problems with higher multipliers than 12.5. I think they don't support higher.
It's a common problem of the asus Nforce 2 boards. You'll have to raise your FSB instead.

Hmm...I had heard that the A7N8X Deluxe did not scale that good on the FSB, but I was unaware of any limitations on the multiplier.

"Just wanted to confirm another successful wire mod. I just installed an M-XP2600+on my Asus A7N8X Deluxe Rev.1.04 and it's doing 15X166 (2.51Ghz) right now at 1.7volts.
Thank you------"

Hey, thanks for the link, that explains a lot. Am I correct in assuming that this limit of the 12.5 multi is caused by the design of the mobile chips or is it from the NF2 chipset?

You know.. I read through almost that whole thread, but I'm not real sure...
Seems to be a prob with some of the mobile chips on nforce2 boards..
Btw; you read that the wire enables 13x and higher multipliers, but must remove it to go to 12.5x or lower, right? heh

Yup :)
I was thinking of soldering a switch on the back side of the mobo :D
