Was there some kind of bet involved Shawn, or a keg maybe?

Pop, soda is part of the name of a state, and coke is a name of a pop.

Coke, cause that's the brand I drink (I don't think of it as a generic name) soda makes me think of club soda, and I never think of pop though I guess SODA-POP made sense when each glass was mixed by the soda jerk at the fountain (drug store/malt shop/lunch counter).
Soft Drinks works as a general term. (do milk and water count?

Down here in the south, everything is a Coke. It goes something like this: "hey, you want a coke?" ... "yeah, what do you have?" ... "Sprite, Coke, Dr Pepper, etc...." :D

All of my relatives in Lousiana call it a cold drink. Anything in a can besides beer is a cold drink.
