Hey, i overclocked my 3500+ to 2470mhz with A.I. Overlocking (a BIOS software that comes with Asus new motherboards and let you overclock the CPU easily). Have someone allready tryed it?

My previous motherboard was an Asus, but I can't say I've tried the A.I. -- pretty good overclock for an auto feature, that's near the average max.

So it's not bad at all, true? I heard that it don't works really well and that's why i'm asking .

I have not heard much about it, but tools such as those generally do not provide as good of results. Yep that's not a bad overclock at all, my 3000+ (2.0Ghz) only likes to hold 2,300Mhz stable.

Oh, ok, thanks for answer. I have WaterCooling, but i don't have all the time my CPU overclocked (for what more? :?). I've just tryed last week that thing .

I agree... AI OC'ing is good if you just want an easy and stable OC without much effort, but if you really want maximum performance then, as always, a manual overclock is the way to go. It would be interesting to see on average just how much better a manual OC is than an AI OC though.

I think that manual OC it's better because if you know what you are doing you'll get nice results. But, in the other hand, AI Overclocking help so much guys like me that aren't experts in OC world .

Nubs...

you can't expect everyone to know everything about overclocking. everyone starts someplace. and personally, i'm glad they come here for advice on the subject.

At the very least it gives SlipSand an excuse to spam somewhere...

as long as he's not verbally bashing like he has been in some of the forums.

Hmm... true. :) I'm trying to decide if this is a subtle stab at my comment...

He was referring to that... other thread. ;)

I have a little question... If i overclock the CPU with AI OC, this will affect too the memory clock?

Yes, it directly affects it.. if you're still running 2470Mhz at your highest multiplier (11x) your FSB is about 224.5Mhz, making your ram the same (assuming the FSB:DDR ratio is set to 1:1), and double that for the 'effective' speed (449Mhz DDR).

Ok, Thanks .

Yeah its all linked. I have never used this AI thing but it sure sounds a little questionable. I dont trust computers with making tyhemselves go faster...Any way.
I got NVsystem Utility which only affect the present (aka that boot only) and it works decently.
If I have a 2500+@2.450ghz what rate is that at?

Why not trust it? From what it sounds like it's a software based overclock that won't push your system even as far as a manual overclock. I would guess its a lot safer then overclocking it yourself.
