Who should you vote for in the upcoming presidential election? If you have no opinion of your own and are given to allowing online quizes to dictate your life, you might check this out. :)

Bush is my highest ranked candidate, with kerry (surprising, since I refer to him as he-devil-she-man :P), coming in a fairly close second.

I left in former candidates, and the it isn't far off a few more question would have taken out the green party.
Dean blew his chance
Kucinich was a liberal H. Ross Perot some good ideas but a haunted past and outside the mainstream
Nader- good ideas but now just running out of bitterness

LOL...a perfect example of a poll leaning in every direction but the right. Yes, this is a poll, whether you realized it or not. Go back and read the questions and possible answers, and keep in mind that most of the people answering this don't realize you can check more than one. And, the way they are worded, checking more than one will lean your vote towards Kerry.

Most every one of them are worded as to make the conservative choice sound distastful. For example:

1. TAXES & SPENDING (Check any and all statements with which you agree)
-Reduce federal spending and taxes, even if this means shifting responsibility for providing services to state and local government, private industry, charitable groups and/or individuals.
-Increase federal spending and taxes--if needed to provide services and protection to the Americans.
-Regardless of increases or decreases, it is vitally important that federal spending and taxes are balanced.
-There should be a guaranteed livable annual income for all, including those outside the work force.
-Full employment for all Americans should be federal policy.
-Eliminate federal estate taxes.

The conservative answer is the first one...re-read it to mean "reduce taxes regardless who it hurts" The last one, too....but most undecided people don't even know what that means. IMO, it is probably the most rediculous tax law on the books. Why in the hell would I want to work if I had a guaranteed viable living?

5. SECURITY & TERRORISM Since 9-11 the issues of civil rights and liberties have come into conflict with issues of security. (Check any and all statements with which you agree)
-Law enforcement agencies should be granted greater discretion to read mail and email, tap phones, and conduct random searches.
-America should adopt stricter standards for international student visas.
-Terrorist suspects should be tried in civilian courts with due process protections (rather than in military tribunals).

The first answer is the conservative answer...but it is worded to make you think they want to change our law enforcement to the KGB.

HEALTH CARE (Check any and all statements with which you agree)
-Support the concept of federally funded national healthcare coverage for all or most Americans.
-Prohibit cloning of human embryos.

Considering health care (a term which pisses me off, its HEALTH CARE INSURANCE) is supposedly one of the major topics of the election, that's not many choices. Why, I wonder?

SOCIAL SECURITY (Check any and all statements with which you agree)
-Allow workers to invest a portion of their payroll tax into private investments.
-Support measures to protect Social Security and Medicare (but excluding privatization).

How about both?....'cause if you check the second one, it means you don't believe in the first one.

MINORITY ISSUES Regarding the positions of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, my ideal candidate will generally:
-Share the positions of the NAACP
-Oppose the positions the NAACP
-No preference/None of the above/Prefer alternate solutions

After reading the explanation of who the NAACP is, if you check anything but the first one, you are a total racist redneck. BUT....if you dig into what the NAACP actually is for, you will realize that very few of their positions actually help any African-Americans at all, unless they happen to draw a paycheck from the NAACP

CIVIL LIBERTIES Regarding the positions of the American Civil Liberties Union, my ideal candidate will generally:
-Share the positions of the ACLU
-Oppose the positions of the ACLU
-No preference/None of the above/Prefer alternate solutions

Same as the last one. The ACLU is probably the most destructive to the US constitution of all mainstream organizations
