It was in my local CompUSA sells paper, prolly have to call the one nearest you, to check "in-stock" availability. It looks like its running nationally, but you will prolly want to jump on it quickly before there sold out.

This sale started Monday and pretty much EVERY store sold out the same day. Some compUSA's are giving rainchecks, some aren't. I got a raincheck for 4 of them from my local store. Sale ends the 16th, your best bet is to call your local store and see if they have them, if not ask about a raincheck.

i've had a couple maxtors i liked. however, i don't see that as being an "insane bargain".
truth is that if you get larger hard drives, they are almost all about $.50/gig. true that smaller drives can come in handy, but i would rather spend a little more and get a bigger drive. I priced out a western digital 200gb SATA 7200rpm drive the other day for around $100.
honestly, i would say they offerred that sale due to SATA becomming more mainstream. it is harder to find a non-SATA motherboard now, and technology is moving away from IDE all together. how long will it be before DVD+-RW is SATA as well?
anyway, not to say i wouldn't have picked one up if i saw it, cause i probably would've. heck $30 for a piece of hard drive would probably be the cheapest computer part i've ever bought.
