Look for the trailer on TV starting Nov. 4th in the afternoon, the trailer will be released for star wars.com hyperspace member on Nov. 4th for downloading, the general public will be able to download it on Nov. 5th.
The trailer description is super sweet. Found this out on theforce.net
The first half of trailer consists of a familiar voice over with Alec Guinness (old obi-wan). Fans will love to hear him speak his monologue to Luke from A New Hope about "Jedi Knights always being the guardians of peace." As we hear these familiar phrases, they've intercut shots from various Star Wars episodes, excluding Episode 3. Only when the monologue ends with "Vader was seduced by the dark side of the Force" about 40 seconds into the trailer we see the face of Anakin. He is partly covered with dark hood, looking positively evil.
This is followed by the shot of erupting volcanoes, then some sort of volcanic field with crab-like creatures and then darkness, all accompanied by Vader breathing. Then the following is heard:
Sidious: "Lord Vader..."
Vader: "Yes?"
Sidious: "Rise."
Then we see Anakin in full Vader gear rising on some sort of operating table to which he is chained. The rising is slow and is intercut with shot of various Star Wars main characters. When the table has fully risen so that Vader is basically standing upright, the meatiest part of trailer begins, with many, many shots from Episode III. Most of them are very, very short - this will be something for freeze-frame fanatics to analyze.
The ones that stuck in my memory:
Dozens of Wookiees on some sort of floating platform.
Padme with signature Leia hairdo.
The Tri-Fighter, aka the precursor to the TIE fighter with three curving wings and guns mounted between each wing. They shoot red lasers.
The ARC Clonefigthter, aka the precursor to X-Wing, with three wings on each side.
A gigantic starship being sprayed by streams of something that looks like dense acid.
The trailer ends with the title "THE SAGA IS COMPLETE - MAY 2005" and its length is about 1 min 40 secs
Most of the music is from other star wars movies, but the darth vader theme or (imperial march) dominates most of the trailer.

Note: Star Wars 3... all computer generated special effects are done on a server farm of AMD Opteron machines.

Haha, also note that it will likely complete the balancing act needed to bring an amazing trilogy and make it an overall decent six-ogy (whatever that is)

i can gaurantee i WILL NOT be there on opening night. maybe though, i'll see if i can find a way to knock down the power grid on opening night. yeh, that'd cause a riot.
obviously, i'm not a big star wars fan. maybe i was too young, but i absolutely hated, i mean hated the first 3 (ep 4, 5, 6). episode 1 was the best IMO, so much so that I actually second guessed myself on my opinions of ep 4, 5, 6. did i miss something great the first time through because i was too young? so i tried watching one of them again (it was on TBS or something). i was bored within 15 minutes and turned the channel, again. so i was left wondering "maybe the new ones are great because of their special effects, and that's why i like them more?". that could be true. i am a big fan of the special effects (and sound effects for that matter) in the new episodes. those aspects are freakin awesome to say the least. so anyway, i was hyped for episode 2 to come out. didn't go on opening night (as i'm just not that big of a fan). however, i went like a week later, and wanted a refund. episode 2 had to be the very worse of all 6 of the episodes i've seen, albeit nice special effects again.
so now star wars fans will probably say i'm some sort of depressed weirdo because i'm not kissing the ground that Lucas walks on. truly, i'm happy for all of you star wars fans that are really into it. it's cool that all of you have something in common and whatnot. however, you will not see me on opening night. i'd fear that in the middle of it, i might stand up and shout "For the love of God, someone change the channel", which would be accompanied by me getting thrown down by a dozen people dressed as Ewok's and (hopefully) a Natalie Portman lookalike.
anyway, just a small rant. no offense to all the star wars fans out there, i feel the same way about every star trek before TNG.
just make sure none of those plastic light sabors hit you in the face

LOL.... I can see the news headline "Young man beaten to death by mob with plastic lightsaber replicas after causing a power outtage on the block of the theatre showing the new Star Wars film...."

wow...
I can deal with you not liking star wars kryo, I mean, I enjoy them (not in the 'i dress up and have a light saber sense', but in the 'good movie' sense), but it's cool that not everyone does.
But common? Episode ONE?!?!!! Both 1 and 2 have been far below the level of 45&6, and 1 was the worse of the two!

I never saw why people hated 1 and 2, I like 1 myself

people that aren't typically star wars fans always like episode 1. where as the fans that have read the books and whatnot always like 4,5, & 6. that's at least the impression i get from most people.

I dunno.... I can see how if 4/5/6 never appealed to someone that they would like the new ones better.. special effects/etc.. *shrug*

I likes episode 1, but its not the best, episode 2 was cool because yoda is the freaking man! But honestly episode 4 was good, opened up the story, but episode 5 kills me to watch, its boring, the story is dark and dry, but episode 6. Episode 6 takes the cake in my opinion, granted lucas changed at the last min and went with the Ewokes (teddy bears), it was originally going to be a planet full of wookies, which would have made more sense in the big fight I mean come on, a 2 foot bear, kills a 6ft stormtrooper who is wearing armor. Im a huge star wars fan, i dont like star wars cause of the cool special effects, i think they took it to far by not making the clone troopers real people, but back to the subject, i like star wars because of the story, a far better story than alot of movies that are coming out now, ex: the matrix 1-3. Piss poor story line in those movies.

the first matrix had an awesome story line and it was something that had never been done before. the second matrix was alright i suppose, but it started making Neo more of a comic book character than a real person. I think this was the first downfall. The third matrix should have never been made. Granted, some of the fight seens where cool, even though the screamed CGI.
Still, they should've stopped after the first one. It wasn't designed for a sequel. In fact, they had to go back and write the sequel's for it after the first movie had been made.

Bout time the 3rd one comes out.
Far as the matrix goes, yea I dont think it was meant to be a 2nd or 3rd but I did like how they added to the story and least they did something different by having neo die at the end.

personally, i wasn't fond of how the second two were all a play on the Bible. he even died on a "future crucifix", not to mention it was portrayed that he died so that everyone else could "live". but yes, it was nice that he died at the end, though i thought it would've been much more dramatic if he had died yet trinity lived. it was kinda cheesy that he "didn't have anything else to live for after trinity died"

Not really, though it didn't seem anywhere as near as corny as it seems now. Kind of like the Batman TV show. The effects are very dated...though the stars "stretching" when they hit warp drive was pretty cool at the time...probably much better on the big screen than a TV.
I don't think I have ever actually watched 5 or 6 in their entirety, though probably have seen all of each in bits and pieces over the years.
Episode 1 was ok...I was amazed at the effects.
It's all personal opinion. I.E., I thought "The Grudge" was about the most worthless movie I've ever paid to see...no plot whatsoever, and not scary...but everyone that I've talked to that has seen it thought it was great.

I guess that people that most people that haven't read the books consider 1, 2, 3 prequels of 4, 5, 6. I haven't read them, but have known enough Star Wars devotees over the past couple of decades to have known that the original movie started at the middle of the story.
Prequel = cheezy attempt at making more money from a successful movie by re-writing the screenplay. They generally suck, IMO.

On a scale of 1-10. 1 being crap 10 being excellent how'd you rate it? Also is it the scariness that stays with you? My girlfriend has things where if its really bad she has trouble sleeping for days.

umm, on the scary movie scale, i'd rate it a 7 or 8, probably an 8. better than the ring, hands down, but maybe not quite as scary as the exorcist.
on the entire movie scale (including all genre's), i'd rate it around a 6.
it's not the best movie i've ever seen, but it was d*mn good for a scary movie. then again, i don't really like scary movies, so of course i'm going to think comedies and action flicks are better.
basically it's scary as crap. i found myself still thinkin about it a couple days later, but it wasn't so bad that it kept me up at night. it reminded me quite a bit of the ring, but was alot better and seemed to have a better plot, imo.
i'd definitely recommend going to see it, regardless of whether or not you normally attend scary movies. to help ya along, i've link to the trailer for the movie, The Grudge (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0391198/trailers-screenplay-X24971-10-2)

not trying to beat a dead horse, I've given what i thought of the movie, I'm just really curious what in it you found scary. Well, I don't really want to spoil it for those that haven't seen it, but I'd really like to know.
