I don't like you guys anymore. ;__;

Really hoping I can get a bigger monitor for Christmas, since everytime I think I'm going to be able to save up for one, something else comes up that requires money.

How much did you pay for that, btw?

Very nice! [smilie=icon_cheers.gif]

Hmm... I like the look and the space saving... but too bad you have to go 19-20" to get more than 1280x1024 resolution out of them, 1280x1024 is getting pretty restrictive latey for Photoshop jobs...

Just put a Dell 17" LCD on the general manager's desk, 17 actual viewable inches, almost as big as my 19" x-flat at home, but it doesn't do the 1600x1200 it does :x

Yeah, I might be picking one of those suckers up at xmas time. Would be real nice to get rid of the old CRT behemoth.

they already are you can get a decent 17 for $200 and a 19 for $300 on sale after rebate.
thse aren't top of the line sub 25ms response monitors, but they fine for any use except intense gaming. And as these one drop in price the high end ones follow.

BTW, I got that same clunker, Gateway EV700 ;).

Mine isn't as dirty on the sides, but the wire is frayed and I have to bend it around sometimes to fix the color (goes to a green sometimes, but it still runs, so its all good).

But... but.... wal-mart?

Newegg, pricewatch, tigerdirect, ANYTHING but wal-mart... the only computer equipment I've ever bought there was games, and that's only because they can't screw up a sealed box.

hehe. there are no electronics stores in the small college town where we live. probably could have gotten a better deal at newegg, but eh, oh well. happy with the purchase. excellent picture quality, and is actually a hair bigger viewable than my 19" CRT

Um have you measured that? ;)

(17" lcd is 17", 19" crt is 18")

i measured using my makeshift ruler aka a piece of styrofoam. measuring from corner to corner, it was just a tad bit longer with the lcd... i will try to find the tape measure when i get home and get some exact measurements

In most cases, but 19"ers can have visable screens as small as 17.3".
The screen on my 19" lcd is almot as large as the outside of the case on my 17" crt. makes for a big upgade in useable desktop real estate. (both the onscreen desktop and my acul desk)

both gateway and e-machices sold 19's with a 17.3 diagonal (picture didn't even reach the bezel) and I'm sure the same monitors were sold elsewhere, really cheap.
